Final Musing Part 2: For Agnostics and Disbelievers..

The signs of GOD’s existence are all around us and humankind is endowed with common sense, intellect and rationality to easily deduce this. But why so many deny and try to hide from Him? My take is, for most it is due to the fact that they refuse to face up to the fact that there is a God whom they are accountable to, not because it makes sense.

A surveyor for example would come to a complete conclusion that a geodetic mark is the work of a surveyor with knowledge, intellect, wills and capabilities. He would also recognize the purpose of those geodetic marks. What is irrational is that, the very same surveyor would refuse to arrive to the same conclusion when there are say a trillions or so equally valid geodetic marks. Why is this? Well, my take is, these people take the position that the ‘bucks stop with them, i.e human’. No human can make something as big as the planet earth spins on its own axis, nor any human can make the earth goes around the sun, no human can create a galaxy, all these are beyond any human endeavor hence common sense, intellect and rationality no longer apply and all these were assigned to a product of chance and coincidence. Some are openly admitting or subscribing to something as ludicrous as things that did not exist before creating themselves or these things bringing their own selves into existence.

Indeed if one is humble enough to ponder upon the created things around us, the celestial bodies, the galaxies and the entire universe, our faculty of reasons and intellect could easily deduce that the One responsible for bringing the universe into existence would have to be the One who possesses infinite knowledge and unsurpassed capability to create.

Back to our geodetic marks example, to establish one would require a surveyor with ‘knowledge, will and ability’. The same applies to our planetary system, galaxy and universe. Just because we cannot see God, does not mean that the universe is without a Creator or Originator, just like we don’t have to see the actual surveyors who established those geodetic markers to conclude that it was the work of surveyors.

No sane person would claim that a geodetic mark creates itself or that it was created by nothing, then the same common sense and reasoning should apply to the universe. Therefore, the only possible conclusion is this massive; millions of light years across universe or ours was brought about by One that possesses knowledge, will and ability.

The next question is, what about us? Did we create ourselves or did we come about from nothing? Or are we a creation of the same Creator that created this universe? If we are a creation, then what is the purpose of our creation? Is the One who created this universe with all it intricacies, balance and precise laws, simply created us, creatures of free choice without purpose? How to live our live? What is happening after our death?. Surely the only One who can answer all these questions is the One who created us.

We can speculate all we want on how we choose to live our lives and what to expect after we die but surely that would be just conjectures without proof or evidence based on our limited human mind. Is it then quite reasonable to expect our Creator to at least revealed what is expected of us, which way pleases Him and which way displeases Him?

As we have known the first creation, is it reasonable to expect the One who created them the first time is very much able to repeat it the second time? If we ponder on how we actually started, ie from a single cell, then how implausible for us to be raised up again and be questioned on our deeds? To be punished or rewarded?

Quran answers all these questions and more. I would encourage every one to read this article by Garry Miller as a starting point, here:

Spend a little time to research and verify the claim that the Quran is indeed a revelation from the Creator of this universe..a literal words of Allah. It is an admonition as well as glad tidings for all mankind. The choice, they say, is up to you.

I leave you with this chapter entitle “Al-Insan (Man)" an from the Quran to ponder upon.

Peace
